Amy Giordano

School Director







As a member of the Giordano family, Amy’s passion for dance carries into the roles she plays within the Giordano organization. Amy took on the role of School Director for the Giordano Dance School in the fall of 2006. In her short time as School Director, she has implemented the Giordano Juniors program in which five groups of students learn from Giordano company members and perform throughout the community, education the community at large about dance and the benefits of involving children in structured programs. Her love of the arts and her strong vision for the future of the school continues to bring change and growth. Amy is proud to carry on the tradition of excellence in dance that her father started in 1952.

Melissa Mulvaney

School Manager







Melissa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and Dance from Millikin University. She began studying dance at age 3, and attended classes at Midwest Ballet Academy, Ruth Page, the Joffrey Ballet School, and Boston Ballet. She has worked for many dance studios in Illinois both in the office and classroom including Midwest Ballet Academy in Downers Grove. Melissa enjoys performing with local theatre groups in the Chicagoland area. Her favorite rolls include Rumpelteazer in Cats at Theatre at the Center and Dream Laurey in Oklahoma with Light Opera Works. Melissa also teachers specialty group classes at Giordano Dance School.

Diana Stewart

Assistant to Manager

Diana joined Giordano Dance School staff in April 2007. She received a B.S. in Dance from Northwestern University. She has studied tap, ballet, jazz, and modern for many years and has had the opportunity to perform with Raizel Performances and the Jump Rhythm Jazz Project in Chicago. Diana is excited to be a part of our staff.

Kristin Burke

Desk Assistant

In 2005 and 2006, Kristin was awarded a scholarship to the Giordano Dance School. Besides dancing, Kristin really enjoys teaching. Kristin is earning her degree in physical education at Northeastern. She plans to become a dance teacher in a high school as part of a physical education program. She enjoys  working as a desk assistant and sharing her love of dance with our students.

Barbara Miller

School Helper

She is a dance enthusiast and a long time supporter of the Giordano family and legacy. Barbara studied dance for a time, and her daughter Dawn also took lessons. Barbara’s kind and caring nature is felt by all at Giordano Dance School. Barbara has found her home here, and assist us on Friday afternoons answering the phone. We are happy to support her love of dance.

Jennifer Knox

Part Time Desk Assistant


Jennifer joined the Giordano staff in the fall of 2001 and is very grateful to have found such a vibrant and inspiring home to continue her dance training, as well as assisting others in their discovery of the joy of dance.  She stays busy as a full time actress/singer/dancer in the Chicagoland area, and is a former company dancer of Culture Shock Chicago.  Professional credits include 42nd Street, Guys and Dolls, Grand Hotel,  Oklahoma!, Kiss Me Kate, The Rocky Horror Show, Sweet Charity, and The Producers.

Hannah Pitt

Desk Assistant

Hannah recently joined the staff of Giordano Dance School. She has been dancing for many years and is a student at Northwestern University. Hannah enjoys all forms of dance and is happy to assist our students with any questions.
