David Drazin (Ballet)
David had acquired a national reputation for his piano improvisations accompanying silent films. He is notable among contemporary film accompanists for his use of 1920’s era jazz and blues in playing for silent comedies. He began accompanying dance at Ballet Metropolitan in Columbus, Ohio in 1979. He has played at Ellis-Duboulay, Northwestern University Dance Department, and many area schools. David holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Ohio State University. Giordano Dance School students and faculty love dancing to his music.
Sol Mendelson (Ballet)
Sol holds a master of Fine Arts degree from the Latvian Conservatory in Riga, former USSR and is qualified as a concert pianist, accompanist, and teacher. Sol has worked at Northwestern University’s school of music accompanying singers and violinists and playing for graduation recitals. He has lived with his family in Chicago since 1980 and brings warmth and an energizing spirit to the ballet classes he plays for at Giordano Dance School.
